shows, conference dinners, awards nights, festivals, corporate
functions and events.
Based in Auckland New Zealand. Available locally and internationally.
The Lady Killers is a dream team of New Zealand’s
finest female singers and entertainers. From a whisper to a scream and
everything in between, these divas make beautiful music dripping in
harmony
.
The Lady Killers belongs to the grand vocal harmony tradition
spanning gospel to the girl group, power pop to R&B, with a little
bit of rock thrown in for good measure. The show is a wild ride
through music history. It’s sophisticated glamour and a dazzling
vocal tour de force all rolled into one gorgeous super duper deluxe
package. But the Spice Girls they ain’t. For a start they’re not
girls, they’re women. They’re well seasoned professionals doing what
they do best – singing from the heart and soul.
Featuring Jackie Clarke, Suzanne Lynch, Taisha and Tina
Cross
The Icon
Suzanne Lynch
grew up in front of the country as
one half of the seminal pop duo The Chicks. She
then took to the world stage working with Cat Stevens, Neil
Sedaka, Cleo Lane, Lulu, the Walker Bros, Charles Aznavour, Olivia
Newton John and Leo Sayer – to name a few.
She even sang BVs on the original recording of Kung Fu
Fighting – how cool is that! Her successful solo career
includes TV, recordings, touring and a three-season stint as the
vocal coach on NZ Idol. Suzanne Lynch is a former recipient of the NZ Entertainer of the Year
award and in 2001 was awarded the MNZM.
She is the ultimate singer’s singer, much loved and respected by
everyone in the industry and in 2006 released her first solo album
in 20 years, Colour of Summer. Suzanne is currently
putting hopeful contestants through their paces on the NZ season of Stars in Their Eyes.
The Diva
Tina Cross
is a pop princess turned musical
theatre star at the very top of her game. As a recording artist,
Tina conquered the charts on both sides of the Tasman. As an
entertainer she’s worked in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Asia
and appeared with Sammy Davis Jnr, Tom Jones and Meatloaf. In musical theatre Ms Cross has triumphed in lead
roles in Chicago, Once Were Warriors, Boogie Nights, The
Rocky Horror Show, Cats and the Australian production of Sisterella. Tina Cross also plays a mean ukulele!
Most recently Tina received the ONZM and had us all on the edge of
our seats watching her pasa doble, cha cha and waltz on Dancing With The Stars 2008. The critics sum it up:
“magnificent and mesmerizing’ (The Age, Melbourne).
The Chameleon
Jackie Clarke
is the original jack-of-all-trades
with her huge voice, personality and wicked sense of humour. She’s
instantly recognisable from doing time as a judge on NZ Idol and as part of the kiwiana trio When the Cat’s Been
Spayed. Jackie’s a TV regular, appearing on Here To
Stay, Xmas in the Park, hosting TV2’s National
Anthem Music Weekend, judging Showcase and
in sketch comedy as part of the popular Semesi family on Skitz. Recent stage appearances include her star turn in Sweet Charity, A Christmas Carol, Mum’s The Word, The
Underwatermelonman, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and the Grey Lynn Primary School Aloha Night! Jack’s also sung with Annie Crummer, Dave Dobbyn, Wayne Mason, that
famous band the NZSO and many more. Jackie Clark is
a member of alt country band The Darlings (debut
album The Cicada Sessions Ode Records) and the a cappella gospel
choir Jubilation.
The Songstress
Taisha
is this country’s most sought after
session singer and finest R&B stylist. Her amazing voice has graced
recordings by everyone from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa to Midge Marsden. Taisha toured the world twice with OMC during the heady days of ‘How Bizarre’
and recently completed a sell out tour of the United States with
some of NZ’s top performers. Her debut single I’ll Go received wide
spread airplay and featured on the NZ On Air Hit Disc 6. Taisha is a mainstay of premiere entertainment events such
as Fight For Life, Christmas in the Park and Circus X. Taisha is about to release a
music project in te reo with composer Malcolm Smith, under the name
Aonua.
