Classic Burlesque at it's best with dance, wit, repartee and artistic appreciation of the female form. A very Moulin Rouge style of cabaret performance, the show is available for 1930s Gangster or Prohibition themes as well as 1940's Wartime theme parties. Great for clubs, intimate theatres and corporate events.Based in Auckland New Zealand. |
The Hoochy Koochy Girls with MC Tony Bambini capture all the retro glamour, wit and sheer sexiness of this ravishing cabaret standard. The Girls are professional dancers providing a high-end theatrical show that combines humour with the risqué principles of burlesque dance. |

Originating in the early 1920s, burlesque was a risqué variety show
combining conservative (what we'd see as conservative nowadays) dance striptease, cabaret and humour. Although burlesque basically died in the 1960’s giving way to the all nude revue, more recent years have shown a global revival of the “burlesque show” as a more classic, less offensive option. The girls might wear long evening gowns and feather boas which will be slowly unzipped "Gypsy Rose Lee" style to reveal cute vintage underwear styled after the stars of the 1930s and 1940s. The Hoochy Koochy Girls are dedicated to bringing burlesque dance to New Zealand, by employing the sexy, edgy principles of burlesque dance as a medium for attracting clientele to bars and restaurants and by providing unique, high class entertainment for corporate events. Hoochy Koochy Girls pays homage to the glamour days of burlesque by employing expert dancers and beautiful costumes. Both sexy and provocative, Burlesque is enjoyed by both a male and female audience. Nudity is never part of the show. The company can offer a 45 minute show spread over a couple of hours if you prefer it broken up. Works well as part of a Vaudeville variety show with other performers too. The show is reminiscent of 1950's glamour pin-up girls. It's interactive with the audience full of laughs and great entertainment. Cast: Four dancers + one MC. ![]() Click here to see a 4.5mp wmv format show reel. |

"Like any good flirt will tell you, the ability to conjure a laugh is a powerful aphrodisiac." - NZ Herald ![]() "Combines Vaudeville burlesque, campy comedy and a tasteful but tantalizing touch of tease. A little bit sexy, a little bit outlandish." - Tempo Festival of Dance |
