The Nairobi Trio played such an important role in creating a great
atmosphere for the evening. As always, your music was superb, and

Since their inception in
1989 the Nairobi band have become New Zealand's favourite jazz
entertainers, touring regularly throughout the world, appearing at
major festivals in New Zealand, the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia.
Now in their 15th year together, Nairobi band are more passionate
about their music than ever. They have released a total of seven
albums together.
The performance is contagious, expressive, and much of it
spontaneously improvised. The program includes a selection of jazz
standards re-worked by the group, however Nairobi Trio are perhaps
best known for their skilfully crafted original pieces, many of
which evoke images of New Zealand's geographic beauty and cultural
diversity.
The Musicians
The trio line-up is Richard Adams (Violin/ vocals), John Quigley
(Guitar/ vocals) and Peter Koopman (Bass/ vocals) or when Nairobi
perform as a quartet you have the inclusion of Andrew Dixon on
saxophones/ flute/ vocals, taking you on a musical journey, in a
show packed with some real gems.

Nairobi offer live
musical services, including an acoustic Duo, Trio, a concert Quartet
or an electric Dance-band.
With twelve years international experience, Nairobi are New
Zealand’s most experienced and professional musical services

Duo
These guys make their instruments ‘talk’. Sometimes the intimacy of
the Duo is ‘just right” for the occasion (e.g. cocktails, private
dinners etc.)
Trio
The acoustic trio play “with a passion and flair that
international audiences adore” - Stephane Grappelli 1992.
Ideal for cocktail or corporate and private functions, performing
“unplugged” either as a strolling group, or from a fixed point/
stage.
Quartet
The Nairobi Trio concert Quartet have released five albums and
appear regularly at top Festivals throughout the world (including
the Edinburgh International Festival). The Nairobi concert quartet
are ideal for corporate events, trade shows and product launches.
The Electric Band
A top quality dance-band. Electric violin, electric
guitar/keyboards, bass, and drums including 4 vocalists (one of whom
also plays a mean sax.) The repertoire focuses on the dance floor,
featuring classic hits from the '30's to the '90's - something for
everyone. (Check out the song list below). This is ideal for
corporate functions, parties, gala dinner/ dance or conference and
awards presentations black tie or casual.

Duo/Trio/Quartet
The Acoustic "unplugged" sound of the Nairobi Trio is ideal for
pre-dinner cocktails. The band is completely mobile, able to wander
among the guests without being to intrusive.
For larger functions the group provides amplification.
The Electric Band
A top quality dance-band. Electric violin, electric
guitar/keyboards, bass, and drums including 4 vocalists (one of whom
also plays a mean sax.) The Repertoire focuses on the dance floor,
featuring classic hits from the '30's to the '90's - something for
everyone.
