TCM Jazz Trio members are all professionals in their own fields and together they come together to provide a suburb sound and atmosphere at any event they play at.
Nick Marsh – Guitar
Nick Marsh is a New Zealand based guitarist who was born in England and began his musical journey at the age of 7. After completing his studies with Carlos Bonell at the London College of Music, majoring in classical guitar and music theory, he took advantage of the rich and varied music scene that is London.
After moving to Auckland New Zealand, in October 2005, Nick was the driving force behind Dog Audio a company he set up in Feb 2006. Alongside this, Nick has returned to study, gaining a Graduate diploma in Jazz Studies at The New Zealand School of Music, and is currently furthering his post graduate studies in Jazz at the University of Auckland. He is active as a performer and educator in the Auckland region.
Henrieta Tornyai – Upright Bass
Originally from Slovakia, Henrieta is a graduate from the NZSM (Massey University) in jazz performance. She studied bass guitar and double bass under Alberto Santarelli and guitar under Neil Watson.
Her musical experiences and interests are highly varied, including motown/soul, jazz, blues, classical, world, avant garde and rock. She has been a professional performer, teacher and composer since 2005.
Glen Child – Drums
Glen has been a professional drummer and teacher for over 10 years. He originally studied at London’s Drumtech before furthering his study at the London College of Music, where he achieved a Bachelor of Music with Honours.
As a professional musician, Glen has played for many live theatre shows such as ‘Oliver’, ‘Mikado’, & ‘Me and My Girl’, to name a few and has performed with a long list of UK bands ranging in style from Jazz/Funk, to Rock and Hip Hop.
Glen is enjoying going back to his jazz roots with the “The TCM Trio” and he brings a great sense of drive and feel to the band.
